I’m always proud to see our Gospel Music artists represented in the Dove Awards.  Karen Peck & New River’s single, “I Am Blessed” is one of my favorites and I’m thrilled to see it recognized.   Congratulations to all the nominees!

doveawardsHendersonville, TN (August 10th, 2016) – During a press conference held this morning at Shamblin Theater on the Lipscomb University campus in Nashville, the final nominees for the 47th Annual GMA Dove Awards were announced. Daywind Music Group is incredibly honored to have received 11 nominations this year.

Karen Peck & New River led in nominations for Daywind Records with nods for Southern Gospel Artist of the Year and Southern Gospel Song of the Year for their hit single, ‘I Am Blessed.’  Karen Peck was also recognized for her duet with Shenandoah entitled ‘Seconds Count’ in the Country Recorded Song category.  Shenandoah’s debut gospel release, Good News Travels Fast received a nomination in the Bluegrass/Country Album category, along with Wilburn & Wilburn’s 2015 release, Shoulders. The number one song from The Hoppers, ‘Jesus, The One,’ received a nod as Southern Gospel Song of the Year, while The Bowling Family’s Moments Like These was recognized in the Southern Gospel Album of the Year category.  Rounding out the nominations for Daywind recording artists were Greater Vision in the Southern Gospel Artist of the Year category.

Daywind Publishing appeared twice in the Musical of the Year category with nominations for That’s Where The Story Begins, written by Dave Clark, Gerald Crabb & Mike Harland, as well as This Changes Everything, an Easter musical written by Marty Funderburk and Joseph Habedank.  The publishing division also received a nod in the Country Recorded Song of the Year category with ‘Small Town Someone,’ written by Sheri Easter, Kenna Turner West and Jason Cox, and recorded by Jeff & Sheri Easter.

The 47th Annual GMA Dove Awards will be held on Tuesday, October 11th, 2016, at Allen Arena on Lipscomb University’s campus in downtown Nashville, TN. While the awards are the purpose of the show, music performances will definitely share center stage at the GMA Dove Awards, showcasing some of Gospel music’s hottest and most diverse artists.
