Great Stories In Czech History – Around The World In 80 Books #14

Categories: Books,The Latest

Setting: Czech Republic
Time Period: Ancient up to Present Day

Last Christmas, I had the opportunity to travel to Prague, Czech Republic for vacation. While I was there, I shopped in a bookstore on Wenceslas Square where this book begged me to take it home so it could teach me about the history of Bohemia. *wink* Though it’s been a few months since my visit, I was glad that I bought this book. It went over a lot of history about the origins of the Czech/Bohemian people, the founding of Prague and important events in the history of the country. My favorite part was reading about the ruler’s and the wives who were buried in the Prague Castle – we spent a whole day there on our visit wandering around and wondering who the people were in the paintings and tombs. It was nice to learn about their lives in a quick, informative way. Over all, I really liked this short history of the Czech people. It was just enough to educate you on the topics without being overwhelming. If another trip to Prague is in the future, I’d definitely re-read “Great Stories In Czech History”!
