Greetings from Louisville, Kentucky!
Last night the National Quartet Convention kicked off with an evening concert featuring the Whisnants, the Collingsworth Family and the Kingdom Heirs. Today begins the first full day of the 56th NQC that will go down in history as the “Last Year In Louisville.” Next year, NQC will move to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee’s brand new LeConte Convention Center. Until then, I’m eagerly awaiting the shuttle that will take me to Freedom Hall and the Expo Center. I can only imagine the “special surprises” that the board has planned for this year! Now, the schedule NQC puts together is not for the faint of heart and I know I won’t be able to get reviews up while I’m here, so I’ve put some things together to keep you all busy until then!
Special Surprises On Lynn’s Chronicles During NQC Week…
10th – Sunday With the Whisnants and Greater Vision
11th – Behind the Scenes on 9/11
Listen to Rob Sullivan as he shares an eye witness account of 9/11, the part he played behind the scenes and how another man paid the ultimate price to save lives. This 20 minute clip comes from a “sermon” he gave at a summer camp, so the first five minutes will be a little review of that week, but from 4:30 on, you will hear his testimony of 9/11.
13th – September Give-A-Way: In Honor Of NQC
The give-a-way this month is going to be HUGE! Stop by on Friday to see what you could win from this year’s NQC! (CD, DVD, book and more!)
Other topics on Lynn’s Chronicles in September…
We had an outstanding time at Silver Dollar City’s Southern Gospel Picnic in Branson, Missouri and I want to share the fun by reviews like The Barn, The Hollow and The Singing, From Morning To Evening and Sunday With the Whisnants and Greater Vision. Don’t miss these exciting posts!
While we are on the topic of reviews, be looking for a lot of material on NQC throughout the rest of the month!
Somewhere along the way, I’ll also have a new CD review ready with the Booth Brother’s “Quartet Style.” This is such an enjoyable recording! I can’t wait to tell you more about it.
You are probably wondering about this month’s give-a-way. I plan to have that up this Friday once I gather some goodies from the Exhibit Hall! One item that I can promise will be included in the drawing is a copy of the NQC Souvenir Book! Come back on Friday for more details on the rest of the prizes.
Our concert with the Mark Trammell Quartet, the Whisnants and Wilburn and Wilburn is just two weeks away! We are starting to count down the days! If you, or someone you know, live in the New Philadelphia, Ohio area or close by, why don’t you plan to be at the Kent State Performing Arts Center on the 21st of September to enjoy a great night of Gospel Music with us?
