What kind of adventures await for us in April? A lot! Tomorrow I’ll be going up to the Great Lake of the Ozarks Gospel Sing for their three day event in Osage Beach, Missouri. We’ll be having a great time with Triumphant Quartet, the Lesters, the Mark Trammell Quartet and many more artists over the weekend! If you’ll be there and would like to say hi, you can find me at the ticket booth! Then, two weeks after that, the BIG road trip begins; destination?…Myrtle Beach, SC for Singing in the Sun! This year will be the first year for us to attend that Gospel Sing and to say I’m excited is an understatement! Not only am I eager to see some of my favorite groups like Brian Free and Assurance, Karen Peck and New River, Greater Vision, the Mark Trammell Quartet (and the list goes on!) – I’ll also be looking forward to some sight seeing. (It’s my personal goal to visit a lighthouse while we’re there!) 🙂 Anyway, to keep up with my travels you can keep on an eye on my Twitter and SocialCam accounts, and if you’re on FaceBook, I’d love to be your friend! (Of course, there will be plenty of reviews posted on this site too!…if you don’t mind waiting for them to be written. 😉 )
What will be new on Lynn’s Chronicles in April?
I may have used this phrase already…a lot! First, here’s a little sneak peak into April’s give-a-way that will be posted on Friday. This month we’re giving away a gift pack of three Greater Vision CD’s – Faces, Live at First Baptist Atlanta and Quartets. The last time we saw GV in concert, Gerald announced that their record company is going to discontinue these recordings, so they’re bundling those three together while supplies last. But if you come back on Friday, you can enter for a chance to win them!
As for reviews, a very lengthy concert review of the Tracy Stuffle Benefit Concert is coming soon! (I’ll also be writing posts on the Great Lake of the Ozarks Gospel Sing and Singing in the Sun, when they roll around.) In the CD Review department, I’m excited to share my thoughts on Michaela Brown’s instrumental project 4 Strings. If you’ve ever heard this young lady play with her brothers, you’ll know why I’m excited about it! Greater Vision is also releasing a new project this month, For All He’s Done, and I‘m hoping that “late April” means it might be available at Singing in the Sun!

I also have a photo album of Praisefest Branson ready to go and am currently working on a devotional that will share the name of Legacy Five’s song, “Living in the Palace.”
Okay, just one more thing! Last month we featured “Official Music Videos” from different artists on Tuesdays called “March Motion Pictures” – this month, we’re going to do something a little different. We’re going to take videos of two artists singing the same song and we want you to tell us which artist you enjoyed the most in a poll! We’ll call this “Battle Songs” – what do you think? Sound fun?
The Audio Page…
Every now and then I visit a page called Voices for Christ. There, you can listen to thousands of sermons on any subject. This month they are featuring a message from Zane Hodges called “Who Am I? Who Is He?” – when I listened to it, I knew it would be the featured audio selection here as well!
Real News…
The band Red Roots will be on The American Bible Challenge tomorrow, April 4th, 8 PM Central time. The American Bible Challenge is hosted by Jeff Foxworthy and Kirk Franklin – Nika, Natalie and Nicole will be on the game show to raise money for Home of Grace, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program based out of Wade (Mississippi) Baptist Church. (These girls are also up for Favorite Trio in the Singing News Fan Awards this year – what an accomplishment!)
Speaking of raising money for a great cause, the Tracy Stuffle Benefit Concert was a success and raised $75,000+ for Tracy and Libbi!
Also, within a week of each other, two of Southern Gospel Music’s most popular artists, Brian Free and Gerald Wolfe, celebrated their 50th birthdays! Happy Birthday guys! It’s also worthy to note that Brian Free has been nominated in the top 5 nominees for the Naomi Sego Living Legend Award in the Voice Magazine!
