Happy March everyone! I’m hoping that this month will be one that makes memories for us all! With my travel schedule picking up in March, I’m hoping this month will be the beginning of many good times to come. (Not to mention St. Paddy’s Day and Easter is right around the corner!) The first of those events will be Praisefest Branson. Lots of fans will be traveling to Branson, Missouri on the 14th -16th to enjoy a weekend with Legacy Five, Greater Vision, the Mark Trammell Quartet, the Collingsworth family, Jeff and Sheri and many more artists. If you’re not able to be there and would like to see things as they happen, (without having to wait for the concert reviews to be written,) I’d encourage you to keep an eye on my social cam page and watch for video updates during that weekend! We’ve also made plans to attend the benefit concert for Tracy Stuffle on the following Tuesday, March 19th.
What will be new on Lynn’s Chronicles in March?
As ya’ll may have noticed, I didn’t get quite as much written in February as I had planned! LOL So…one of the first things you can look for this week is that CD Review of Tribute’s “Our Anthem.” Another post that’s on the way is the concert review from Saturday night at the Truthseekers Homecoming! The title is “If It Takes A Cow Bell – Ivan Parker” – Ivan sang with Brian Free and Assurance and the LeFevre Quartet that evening and we really made some memories! *smile* Speaking of memories, there is a CD that has been released of the Cathedrals called “Live in Chicago” – a special concert recorded live at the Moody Memorial Church. Coincidentally, that concert took place on March 16, 1996! Therefore, I thought it would be fitting to post my review on March 16th 2013, I hope you’ll stop by and take a peek at it.
In February we had a series on Tuesday called “Hidden Talent,” videos from YouTube of ordinary people singing your favorite SGM songs. For March, we’re going to continue to keep Tuesday designated as a “video” day with a new series called “March Motion Pictures!” Get ready for four professionally filmed music videos – good thing tomorrow is a Tuesday ‘cause I can’t wait!
It’s hard to believe that Easter is this month too! Though it’s still a few weeks away, we’ll be looking at “Places of the Perfect Man” (the upper room, the garden, Pilates Hall, and the cross) surrounding the Easter story in our devotionals for the next few Sundays!
The Audio Page…
This month’s audio selection comes from Dr. Joseph Mikhail, a hematologist at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. He spoke at a Bible conference I attended two years ago on a topic Believers would do well to continually pursue – Study To Show Thyself Approved. More importantly, this seminar doesn’t just tell us we should study our Bible, but shows different ideas on how we can actually do it. I found his advice quite helpful and I hope it inspires you to try something new in your study of the Word!
Real News…
This story in the newspaper caught my eye the other day and I just had to share it…I know this newsletter is getting a little lengthy, but I hope you take the time to read it.
The reason I bring this up is because there is someone who needs our support now more than ever – Tracy Stuffle. On March 21st Tracy had a massive stroke and is STILL in the hospital with difficulties from this experience. We ask that you continue to keep the Stuffle’s in your prayers and ask the Lord for healing! Though after seeing this article, I couldn’t help but think, “If a $100,000 was raised for a homeless man who was honest enough to return a diamond ring, shouldn’t we as Believers be able to raise that kind of money for a servant of the Lord who dedicated his entire life to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through music?” Friends, let’s support the Perrys! Most importantly, pray for them – but lets not be afraid to go to their concerts, buy their product and donate money for Tracy’s medical bills. As you may have already heard, there is a benefit concert for Tracy on March 19th at Christ Church in Nashville. If you’re in and around the Nashville, TN area – please go! (Click HERE for tickets!) My family and I bought tickets and plan to attend…might I see you there?
Until next time!
Lynn
